bucket lid crappie, looks like that fish would cover a five gal bucket. congrats to your friend on a fine catch. the largemouths are nice as well,they have great color. thanks for the C,P,R. god bless.

It's surprising how big a White Crappie can grow with a nutritious diet and a few years to live. That one looks like she is about to unleash a torrent of eggs. .

Ok, I looked it up because I'm fascinated by these types of things. Here is the Crappie growth rate by year as determined by the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commision: ![]() As you can see Crappie are actually slow growing fish. A 10" Crappie has survived 5 years! .

that's not a white crappie, they have predominantly long black bared markings on the sides that's a monster black crappie.
