keep in mind, lines with no stretch like braid, will tear a bigger hook hole in the fish's mouth if you pull too hard or have a rod that is stiff. once the hook hole gets ripped bigger it can shake it off easier.

I hooked em with my flouro twice. I don't think they spawned yet haven't seen any beds and it's almost crystal clear. I've never had such an issue like this its really frustrating. It's funny though there's a bunch of sunnies I guess non go as close I went.

Set your drag properly, sounds like it's too tight. If the fish wants to run, let it run.
