Most of us were guilty of deck shots and piles of dead fish. The best shots are action shots of individual fish. Showing a pile of dead bass with the capt. and mates catch included is not a good idea. It is tough to get action pics. and take care of your charter at the same time. My suggestion is to make an effort. I learned alot from Dave May who took the shots for the Asbury Park Press. He did a photo shoot on my boat and what beautiful pics. we had. It is the same for all fish from tuna to fluke.

The people complaining should have seen the deck shots of the 60's , oops I meant dock shots . And back then there were no size limits. But then again that was before the large volume of commercial guys.

I hear ya captain, rendering the footage is a bitch...I've done some cooking videos and even the footage from my dashcam can be extremely time consuming to edit/upload etc.
Since you're on a boat you can keep the gopros powered indefinitely, and use large capacity SD cards so storage isn't an issue. I'm thinking that mounting 1 or 2 on the boat to capture the action hands-free would be a set-it-and-forget-it solution. |

Couldn't agree more. I have zero issue with people keeping their legal limit, but why not just post a picture of live fish and then it is nobody's business what happened after the photo op. Dead fish look kind of gross anyway :-) |
