Fall trout go in @ all the same stocking points as the Spring trout.

Big Flat Brook water temp. was 53 F, yesterday,......nice & cold,...probably why they were hitting good.

My experience fall trouting on the lower SBR is that it is best to wait until the first or second week of Nov. for the water to cool sufficiently to induce action.

I'm staying down the shore right now so I took a drive over to the Manasquan River to see if there was any catching going on. Every person I spoke with said they got nothing.

Sounds like a typical day on the Muddysquan.

FYI, saw trout on the SBR at Three Bridges yesterday. No takers.

Just got home from a very pristine and scenic northern NJ Trout stream. The fish are stacked up in certain pools if you know where your going. Caught 7 real quick on orange PB. All released! Didn't think they would be feeding already but lucky for me they are. Good day on the little river. Scenery was picture perfect and no other anglers in sight!

TIGHT LINEZ!!!

stopped on sbr for a bit after work. Chased from my spot from an aggressive fly fisherman but had enough time to land one beauty, nice length and bright colors. Serious stickies this year, hatchery has given all of us some early Halloween treats.

I'll stop again tomorrow and see if I can land a few more....

Got out Sunday morning with my long time buddy JP. Got to the River at 8am and the temp was reading 25 degrees! Got out of our trucks and said are we nuts? JP retorts "Of course, anything to get away from the honey do list"

Got to the honey hole and had to pick ice out of the eyelets on about every third cast. Thankfully the sun came out and warmed up both the fishing and us. Finished the day with 3 nice size fish.

Witnessed 2 males chasing/fighting over a female. All 3 wanted nothing to with anything we threw their way.
