This past Saturday, September 12 saw very good cod fishing at 17 Fathoms. 11 keeper cod plus cocktail blues and a diehard ling.

Don't get me wrong...anytime I'm out ling fishing I always make it a top priority to use a dehooker...never remove the slime layer...make sure that I have a pin on board if they get the "bends" on the way up and revive them in the water after a long battle...I mean...they are protected!!!

I might have to try that one Captain!!!! I always try to lay them on the wet deck and "gently" place my foot behind it's head to make sure that the barb near their tail doesn't get me and then "gently" remove the hook from its mouth.
