![]() You were running along and heard noise then it shut down? New batts won't crank it over and by hand it binds up?
Hope I'm wrong but sounds like a major breakage. Connecting rod let loose and jamming up in the block? Like I said hope I'm wrong. Let us know the outcome.

![]() does not sound good.... If the flywheel is turning one way and not the other could be the lower unit gear or shaft that is causing your issue. If so, a much easier and less expensive fix then a power head.

![]() I unfortunately agree. That "stop" is mechanical. Something it stopping the crank shaft.

![]() Well mechanic finally took a look today and the outcome wasn't good. Blew my #4 piston and looks like it's gonna coat more than I can afford right now. I'll be sailing the sponsors for the rest of the year. Thanks again everyone for the advice
