I'm embarrased to admit I too was part of the Flounder decimation that occurred in those bye gone years. Every year right around this time, a few of us would target them for a trip or 2 before the Stripers showed up. We'd catch and keep a dozen between 3 or 4 of us on each trip.

Oh the humanity!! How selfish and wreckless we were

Our children must pay for the sins of their parents!!! I too caught my fair share of flounder back in the late 80's!!! I guess those 100 flounder every year could have saved the stock. I feel so dirty now!!! LOL

just glad my sons got in on that navasink river flounder fishing.miss that stuff
allot.now I just wait for them to huddle on the off shore wrecks and catch my
two fish at 3lbs.

We burried some Bluefish racks in the garden one year..... Our next door neighbor did not like that so much.... The garden was right next to his yard and under his bedroom window
