Shimano Sahara 1000 on a St Croix Avid 5' Ultralight

NJ cookie cutters in a mud pond, "trophy" (what they call 2+ yr) fish in VT whitewater, whatever... it handles it all. light as a feather.

I am new to this board. I know some of you fisherman from years ago when I was much younger and we have crossed paths on either lake or stream. My favorite trout combo is a Loomis TSR 690 GLX 5 feet 9 inch rod with a Japanese Daiwa Certate 1003 reel. This is a very expensive combo and please I am not bragging in anyway. At my age I enjoy fishing top notch equipment, it heightens the enjoyment for me. Fishes like a feather and no BS, but I swear I can feel the trout breath before they hit the bait. LOL

5 1/2' St Croix Triumph with a Daiwa SS. Only had it for a couple of years but it feels great. Since I can't wade the streams anymore and I do my trouting at ponds, I decided to go with the 51/2' instead of 5'.

I had a very old 5' Loomis with a Daiwa reel for many years but I somehow lost it. That outfit caught a lot of trout and smallies.
