ART: Without giving away any of your tactics, Would u classify being good to u by the numbers you are catching or the quality of the fish ur catching..Would u classify the fish as freshly stocked or holdover fish..Waywayanda used to be my favorite Jersey lake of all time back 50 years ago .Still ranks as one of Jersey's prettier bodies of water..Least in my mind..

I've seen the salmon at the hatchery. They are all good-sized, healthy fish when they are released. I think this fishery will continue to improve as the state continues to stock fish that have an almost 100% survival rate due to their size. Go get 'em.

Thanks for the reply Art, Waywayanda probably the best place to stock LL salmon Has a little size right depth and good herring food base..RV reservoir would be other choice but it gets its share of trout stocking..Hope it takes hold they are one sporty fish...Lake George and Lake Champlain, probably the other good lakes to fish for them but it means a lots of travel time...Tite lines guys

NJ DAVE: perfect lake for that style of fishing, sort of an hour glass shape with too basins both with really good depth, narrows loaded with weed beds good bass and pickerel fishing...B4 the state took it over u could rent boats from an old Zinc mining co. that had the rights here, so fishing was limited, bass and pickerel was outstanding, lake fished pretty heavily, but deep water trout and salmon fishing still pretty tricky..This place probably has some nice holdover brown trout...Salmon would and extra bonus...Good parking here and real easy to launch...Good luck, let me know how u do..Have a feeling frost bite fishing here could be good...For browns & LL salmon...

Thx Howard. Going to give that a shot one day.
Heading up to LG in a few weeks. Plan on doing some lake pond river and stream fishing for trout and such. Lets see if I can get some intel on that spiney water flea we spoke about.

Saw them come up and blast herring at the surface--during summer. Herring seem to sense safety up above the depths. Magic hour, the salmon shoot up from the depths they stay in, gorge, and dive back. I saw two guys in a canoe witness this once; they paddled over, one of the guys caught one.
