Caught a nice 17" Largemouth this am. Caught 4 others albeit much smaller. Only 4 pike and nothing of any size(11", 15", 18" and 23"). Man was it HUMID today. Given all the river bank muck, I have to wear waders & boots and I was sweating bullets. Had to stop twice to regroup during the 2.5 mile hike back. Pretty slow action but to be expected on such a warm day. It was suppose to be mostly cloudy but the sun was out for nearly the entire time. I did see one fella in a boat who appeared to be using oars not paddles. Seemed like a big boat for a river that's awfully low. He would have to drag it across mud in some spots.

Damn, that water is low. If it wasn't for all the municipal sewage discharges into the river, it would be a mud bog. Nice bass. .

There are definitely some big Largemouth in the PR. My PB 5.4lb'r came from the river 2 summers ago.

It went up 1.5' yesterday but is quickly dropping. Lots of good weedbeds and brush piles which were under water a month ago are now on dry land. I crossed it at one point where its about 100' wide and the water barely got above my calf. Still a tricky place to wade as what seems to be a stable bottom is not.
