In the early 1980’s NJF&W ID’ed an Atlantic salmon caught by a party boat. Smaller & wild,……….I don‘t think there were any farm raised salmon back then.

Out of curiosity, why is it illegal if it's Atlantic salmon caught in the Atlantic Ocean?

Because there are so few of them. They are an "Endangered Species".

Wow, was not aware of that

Wasn't aware that was why the name was being withheld. When I first saw the picture I thought it was a sea run brown but guess not. Either way, very unusual catch!
