![]() Caught and released 5 chain pickerel to 18" with a 1/8 oz jig in 2 lakes in the WMA yesterday evening. An injured 17" looked like it escaped from a great blue heron. Water was 57 degrees and air was 44. Snow was on the ground and rock salt was on the roads. I didn't see another fisherman. Lily pads are on the surface already. I probably won't return until next year because of the pads. I caught 5 fish each of the 3 times that I fished there this month, a pickerel in Collier's Mills Lake and 4 fish in the pond. Lots of turtles are there. A pair of wood ducks and Canada geese landed nearby.

![]() Not even five minutes from my house. Did you fish Turnmill lake on the right as you enter ?It doesn't get as much pressure and is deeper in spots. If you like Pickerel run back to Kennedy Pond past the Black Powder Range. Small crankbaits and unweighted plastic worms do the trick.

![]() I catch lots of bass in Turnmill in the early season. Also pickerel, yellow perch, crappies and bluegills. This year I only caught bass and pickerel. It's a great flood spot whenever all of my other spots are unfishable.
