A number of years ago, in response to bow anglers on the Del. R. who would
stick A. shad & leave them stacked up on the shoreline, F&W passed the "wanton waste" law: you can stick them, but you have to take them with you. Were those trout the ones recently stocked below the Grat Falls to Dundee Dam? |

Unfortunately a lot of bowfisherman shoot the carp and throw them back, in the garbage, woods, gardens etc. It sucks for people who like to fish for carp because the biggest fish are the easiest targets. A 40" fish with a 30" girth isn't hard to hit from 5' away, try catching it on a rod. Some bowfisherman even give the carp to people who illegaly sell them. Carp from polluted rivers like the Passaic are sold in NY and NJ and they are eaten by people who have no idea how polluted the water is.

This is why I don't post information about spots or carp get togethers on this site. A small group of bad people can ruin it for everyone.

All fish were stockies. The river was high off colored and moving fast. All fish were caught in completely slack water which is normally not part of the river. Dry land in normal flows. Not elmwood park
