Good work danyeo! I report violations as well!

I keep the numbers for F&G in my phone and Hunterdon and Somersett county park rangers.

You can also down load an app if you have a smartphone called tipsubmit. It will allow you to photograph, GPS mark the violation with date and time stamp. Submit it and the tip will get routed to nervous agencies! Somersett County is a little slow, they are working in adopting the App!

To bad we can't call F&G about the cormorants eating the trout. I stopped at Colonial Lake yesterday on my way home from work and they were having a field day eating the stockies. Most of the year there are about 5 or 6 of them there. Once the first stocking takes place they come in from the Delaware River and right now there are to many to count.

Possibly stupid question of the day, but here goes anyway. I got my license this year but did not get the trout stamp. I don't like trout fishing, never have. Am I going to get harassed if I'm out fishing stocked lakes\rivers but going for bass and pike/pickerel?

I'd say the answer is maybe...

The law states, "No person age 16 or older may take, attempt to take (i.e. fish for), or kill trout without a valid fishing license with a trout stamp attached."

It's really up to the Conservation Officers how they want to call any given situation. For instance, if you are at a popular spot of a stocked section of river or lake tomorrow, you will probably get a ticket regardless of what you tell them (I've seen it happen). I've seen CO's give warnings or tickets to anyone fishing in trout containing waters who don't have a trout stamp. I've also seen the complete opposite so you never really know how a given check can play out.
