Default Re: Rod recomendations

The main reason I use bailess from the surf is so I can really wing those poppers, swimmers, metal way out without the bail shutting and snapping my braid. I use the ZB 25 and also the VS 200 from Spring till Fall. Once it starts getting colder i use my VSB 150, which is the Van Staal with a manual bail, cause it's so much easier with gloves on. I haven't had the need to cast like that from boats so I haven't used bailess out there. But, like everything else, everybody is different and that's why there are so many reels and rods. (and also to keep us spending money) And I still use my Mitchell 300 for freshwater fishing which I got in 1966 and still works perfectly.
