Just a heads up guys, alot of people saying these reels are chinese made for OEM bulk orders.

Interesting to say the least. Not saying it is what is but it sure resembles a clone one way or another.
So who coppied who?
It would be nice to know that the US reel is the real deal and I am not doubting so.
Think I am going to be doing a little more research on this reel.
Thanks for that info milhouse.

US meaning i hope what we are selling here is made in the (US) United States opposed to China.
Then again if they are the same and I can get my hands on the $80.00 Chinese version I wouldn't mind that either.

I think it said 80 plus shipping, how much is that? Then if you have a problem could you ship it back?
The Canyon You will have no problem sending or bringing to Don. He fixed my HS 15 even though it was out of warranty, on the spot no charge.

I do no think these are American made reels. Perhaps the OP can let us know. I am interested in the reel, but would rather not buy Chinese made stuff if possible.

Milhouse I took another look at the post, even thou they look the same weigh the same, I believe the picture of the gears say they are not the same.
China on the left gears all burred
Canyon on the right machined and polished.

My concern is the guts of the Chinese reel is identical to the Canyon reel.
Coincidence?
Who knows but close is one thing, identical is another. Right down to the markings on the inside of the body mold, identical looking parts and shapes, ect.
Again NOT saying anything bad about Canyon, just raises suspicion.
Mabey China makes a low grade version and a high grade version of these reels.

I personally can not see any difference between the two by looking at the photo.
