Not an expert on cats we were fishing herring close to bottom in the middle of the afternoon, really trying for hybrids. We pick them up once in a while fishing with herring at 10ft in 50 ft of water. Got 2 thurs both on the bottom and that's the first time I fished herring on bottom there. Whatever you do don't stick your finger in a big ones mouth. Ouch!!!!

You guys are having better luck then me lol 2 times at spruce both goose eggs I really hope that reservoir starts to get hot cause I don't think I can get my boat into hopatcong anymore. I have yet to catch a big cat like that.
