Really anytime you want to, I'm looking to be on the water by six. There will probably be a decent turn out plus other people so I wouldn't show up at seven and then try to launch.

HYBRIDS for everybody! No worries, a good time of year is among us. They can chew early, mid day or when they feel like eating. You'll be on fish, don't be bashful. Introduce yourself, meet the fellas, and take it all in. There's something to learn every time your on the water, even if your a self proclaimed pro. Your gona catch something as long as you look, learn and listen!!!!!

Guys, unfortunately it looks like I will not be able to make it. I'll be doing a guided Hackensack Riverkeeper pontoon tour down the Hack and Passaic that day with my mom. Best of luck to all who are going!

I was up there yesterday and the fish were everywhere. Granted I only had 30 minutes of fishing time, from a dock in 2 feet of water surrounded by weeds, but the fish were there. I spotted multiple schools of perch as well as a nice largemouth bass, all in just 2 feet of water sitting out in the sun. If anyone isn't having luck with wipers, I'm sure they can change methods and fish for lmb and smb and come up with some nice catches.

Mikeps326: I've never fished stripers or on the southern part of the lake, I'm sure there will be lots of people there with similar striper experience (none). I wouldn't worry about that, I think they'll get us on the fish alright. From the reports I seen, the fish are there, it's just a matter of putting in the time.

Nothing to worry about been keepin in touch and have a pretty good idea where they are. We (Jimmy and Myself ) Want as many people as possible to catch at least one hopefully! We can show you the rigs and try to put everyone on fish but in the real world you know that's almost impossible so,
What I can say is Try to be properly prepared (Tackle, Equipment, etc) One good thing to mention is to bring is an anchor. We may be fishing 20ft up to probably 40ft depending on where their sitting. I usually anchor up over a productive looking area using either single or doubles depending on conditions. I only have a small trolling motor and I don't like fighting the motor all day instead of fishing! And Bring the RIGHT attitude!!!

Any preferred artificial bait rigs? I'll be using herring on a pole or two, but would like to have a secondary artificial bait out as well. I like the sound of anchoring up, especially if the drift is faster, I hate farting around with moving and making passes. Senko worms, fake crays, grubs? .....or if you prefer to keep that info until the day of the meet, for those who actually show up, pm me please. I will absolutely be there.

I'm not worried about getting skunked. If the stripers aren't there, there's other fish around too. I'm more interested in learning how to fish the stripers and applying that to future fishing trips. I've fished the small north end of the lake for bass a lot, but I'd love to see what the striper hype is about.

Use a big silver Binsky!!! Anchor over a point or fish and vertical jig it! Works great for me on Spruce and I think it should work on LH. Damn I wish I could go!!
