![]() hey guys, interested in getting carbontex washers for the reel. Is this a good upgrade? Can anyone suggest a shop in nj that can do the work?
Also, you guys that fish these, are there any other upgrades that you would suggest? |

![]() Absolutely recommed it. Worked on my buddie's SA20, swapped out the paper looking stock washers for greased carbontex washers and while i was at it swapped out the bearings to ceramic ones and it was so much smoother. It wasn't too difficult either.

![]() I had both my 15 and 20 rebuilt after 5 years without any servicing and thousands of fish. I had the drags upgraded to carbontex, bearings replaced and also put a power knob from Alan Tani put on because the bearing in the handle was shot. I highly recommend the power knob if you like a larger handle.

![]() You may already have carbontex washers in it. I believe the newer models already have it. I did mine but when I opened it they were there already. I replaced them anyway. It's SIMPLE to do yourself
Sorry ......mine was a saltist |
