![]() There was a spot that I caught 3 pike on 3 casts, 2 years ago, and they were all the same size.....6 inches. All on the same spinner bait I was using for the big guys. I am guessing that there must have been a stocking that day close to the area I was fishing.
It's an amazing river......you can get one from 4 feet long, to 4 inches long, with the same lure in the same spot on 2 different casts. I guess that is what keeps us going. Danny V |

![]() I think pickerel are hard to raise - home or in a hatchery. I don't think NJ even tries to raise them in hatcheries. In checking their ww stocking history, there have never been any pickerel stockings. Even Pa does little stocking of them.
I was on the PR for just 1/2 yesterday getting that pickerel, 5 redbreast sunfish, 3 bluegill and 1 green sunfish. Its better than a skunking. Big pike still elusive...carp abundant as are fathead minnows and shiners

![]() If they ever do raise pickerel, I know lots of places that need to be restocked. Bucket brigades and bassmasters who think killing them will help the bass population have decimated them in much of eastern Monmouth County.
