nice job eddie! I give u kudos on the riverside ER job. Got a F18 treble in my finger about 3 weeks ago 2am on LH at the slip. Was killing them in my cove and a monster wiper hooked me. Off to the ER couldnt get it out was too deep. They hurt like hell, was my first time in my life ever got a hook in my. learned my lesson the hard way

I once had the treble from a CD3 stuck in my palm past the barb. I had no wire cutters, so I had to push the point through the skin, flatten the barb, and then pull it out. Pretty painful. Now I always make sure to keep wire cutters on me, and a first aid kit in the car, complete with alcohol wipes and bandages. Haven't had to use either yet, thank goodness.

Just one more reason to pinch your barbs down. You'll lose fish but spare yourself some serious injuries. Where sunglasses too. Those barbs can come right back to your eye(s)

And always have a medical pack in your car or boat. I got the full package with alcohol, bandages, scissors, cold pack, neosporin et al. I've already used it about 5 times this year for various impalements and scrapes.

Luckily for fisherman, metal is not a surface bacteria thrive on so infection is not likely.

1 to 3" of rain tomorrow/tomorrow night so river is going up, up, up...so will the mosquito numbers! Fun start to the summer.

I have been pierced with a hook no less the 5 times. Barb in one side and out the other...OOOUGHHHHH...all requiring an EMR visit. The only piercings that I have have ever had. Worst was w/a 15lb bluefish on a jetty...trying to unhook and pierced, hook and barb under the skin. The fish shakes and out the other side of the skin comes the hook Luckily a fisherman nearby was able to help.
