I said last week that july 4th seems like a more realistic due date, now you know why. Doesnt look good. My buddy was offered a slip from the waiting list and was told may first with no guarantees. They then said reimbursement could be in order for the delay but would not give any more detail than that. He passed on the slip.

They have the floating docks stacked up in the parking lot ready to go.
Are they supposed to be permanent? |

I have heard anywhere from Mid May to the beggining of July. Can anyone confirm that at the Harbor Meeting on Tuesday they said it will not be ready until July ?

The floating docks are to be permanent. The meeting on Tuesday mentioned nothing about going into July with the Harbor being finished.... they didn't discuss the date of completion.
The main priority right now is the Sea Streak Pier (Franks pier) and the Fuel dock, the launching ramp is a staging area for pillings and the new docks, it is not safe to launch boats until further notice. I think what boggels the mind is How long it takes to get through the Red Tape of dealing with Insurance, the Gov and all that stuff involved to make this work. All those involved have done everything they could to make this proccess move along smoothly, but it's still 5 months since the storm and the first Pier isn't 100%. I give credit to all the agencies involved for expediting as much as they could, but it still takes Months for the system to work! Next year when all is said and done, the Private boaters will love the fact that they don't have to climb a ladder to get on or off thier boats. We may have a larger jetty to protect us from future storms, and life will go on after Sandy. As I say in my fishing reports...Patience, it will all work out. ![]() |

I was on the list and got a call Wednesday from AHMH. Asked if I wanted a floating dock or fixed pair. I asked for first available and was told sometime in May for a fixed pair and possibly July for a floating dock. Than I was told that in order to reserve I had to pay in advance and when the slip became available than IF any back monies were to be given it wouldn't be until next season. From what I saw Sunday July looks like a reach. Not all floating docks are put together and even if they were you still have to run electric and water. It didn't even seam as if all pilings are in yet.
