Check out Captain Rick's out of Puerto Aventuras. 31' Bertrams. Good people. Went out fishing with them a few years back. They charged a reduced rate for my wife to join us, as she doesn't fish. A dad was with his son who got sick. They asked if we minded if they could take them back. The fishing is so close to the port that we all agreed to drop them back at the dock. Heck, 2 less people to take up space in the cockpit.
We trolled for a few hours and no luck. Capt asked if we wanted to catch fish, so we all agreed to bottom fish near some reefs. Caught a ton of fish. Brought a Cuebera snapper back to the dock and took it across the road and had them cook us up one of the most awesome lunches we've ever had. I think the meal ended up costing us $7, including a few beers and sodas. Puerto Adventuras was cool to check out after we got back. Good luck. Captain Seaweed |

I don't remember if it was Capt. Ricks, Seaweed, but I do remember the Bertrams. Nice boats and friendly crews.
We did start fishing 5 minutes from the dock, but were an hour out when the Midwest guys wanted to go back. Their wives didn't care. Neither did we. Probably wanted to punish them for too many Cuervo's the night before. ![]() |
