Well its been since spring i went here so i gave it a fall shot for the first time. Started off below the bridge at point mountain stretch with a pins minnow, nada as usuall. i dont think im using them right bc i switched over to a roostertail and hooked one on the 5th cast or so, got off a second later though. moved up to the TCA section, fished trout mags under a float and hooked a nice bow, dropped it again halfway in. next cast, another one but finally landed it. 16" brookie....

Changed colors and moved upstream, hooked a fourth fish, got off once again...continued hiking up the river, trough dense woods where no one has gone before. Couldn't find any good water so i headed back down to where i lost the last fish. did a couple casts, the float went down but it was hard to tell with all the deep riffles and fast current, set the hook anyway and was onto the biggest trout i ever hooked before. 10 seconds of giant tail splashing on the surface; looked to be around 24" and 5-6 lbs, i couldn't believe it. unfourtunatley my drag was a tad too tight and it broke me off

my biggest mistake was not loosening it in time. Headed home with 4 dropped fish, a rooster tail and trout magnets snagged in trees, but luckily the one brookie. the short lived fight with the beast will be in my head for a while, until i get another chance, this time i'll be more prepared.
