Um scientifically speaking the storm started in the warm water tropics but ran into cool water on its way up, which would normally cause the storm to peter out. The atmospheric pressure caused the energy ramp up thats hitting us now and thus called "Frankenstorm"...not NJ's warm water you momo.

Using the Huff post for scientific facts might be just as good as asking a 3rd grader for calculus help. I'm a dem. and I say that!

Wrong time and place for this.

I think the volcano comment is proof positive that humans can change the climate. After a major eruption the earth cools for a while (months at least) due to particulates filtering out some of the energy from the sun.

As for trends, yes they exist but not as quickly as they have been in recent history, usually depends o. How you draw you line of best fit. And even if we have little effect on climate, is it a bad idea to conserve energy or look for cleaner energy that will clear oceans and produce more fish?

I have at diesel boat that loves fuel, so where I can I sacrifice to conserve energy- warm house in summer, cold house in winter and small crappy cars that get good gas mileage.

Not political, just cheap, and it makes sense to conserve energy for whatever reason.

Shouldn't this be in NON FISHING!!!! Preferrably on another websites non fishing section but that's just my two cents.

I think there are a few more important things at hand we should be thinking about....like the welfare of others maybe....rather than taking advantage of a tragic event to get on a soap box and present your own political opinion.....by starting an intentionally inflamatory thread on a fishing site no less. Well you were successful in pissing people off if that was your goal. Nicely done. Pretty arrogant for your 53rd post on the site too. Yes I'm grumpy.....so what?

Hope everyone gets through the storm as well as possible.

All the planets go thru heating and cooling cycles and it is because of solar flare activity mostly so it's not manmade.

Right now we are starting a cooling phase.
