Just so you all know, Clark sold the land to Union County about 5 years or so ago for $1. Once that occurred the reservoir became public land. Google it. It's open access. Never once have I been stopped by a cop, park ranger/game wardens, or even a resident who has lakeside property. Union County police frequent the area between Milton Lake and the reservoir and have echoed the same exact sentiments I mentioned above--it's open. Just catch and release and carry-in, carry-out. The amount of garbage I see has disgustingly grown in recent years and that'll wind up ruining this great fishery for all of us. I also call the NJ wildlife when I see bucket brigades back there. And I have seen them come down and bust people fishing illegally or keeping things that were short or out of season.

Very nice Jig thanks. That's the same article I read before the first time I fished there.

Jigman, are kayaks or small boats allowed on? Or is it shoreline only?

I've seen homeowners on the west side of the lake put row boats in there but I've also seen kayakers get told to get out of the water. Reason being was that the police stated they didnt have a legit location to get into the water easily for a rescue if need be. Granted, out of all the years I've fished there I've seen the same row boat a handful of times and the one kayak got told to get out of the water. I think it's safe to say that its shoreline only... If you find out differently I'd love to know. There's a ton of tasty looking shoreline that you absolutely cannot access along a majority of the entire west side of the lake. The east side is tough too as the trees are thick.

Ive been fishing there for 25 years, never had a problem. My parents live on Madison Hill Rd. Big channel Cats to 15 lbs, perch, pickeral Lm, bullheads and assorted panfish live in this body of water. Some of the fish have dwindled down to nothing but there is a ton of LM in there. GREAT FISHERY!!!
