Didn't see any tuna over 60lbs and the caught sword was around 75. Boys were still busy with the fish over 20 mins after docking. I carried mine of to process them at Belmar. Wish I had brought a knife a bit bigger than my 7" fillet knife..*LOL* It worked but it took 35 mins to process 2 30lb tuna which is piss poor in my book. Then again, i don't think I've cut a tuna in 4 or 5 years.

AS EXPECTED sounds like a great trip.
Congratulation to the master who put it together. You picked the rite boat and together you picked the rite time for the trip. I hope you missed the rain storms we had here. GREAT JOB TO ALL WHO WENT. |

A quick report on the trip...
First a very special thanks to Charlie Tuna and Bob for getting it off the ground and making it a go...looking forward to next years trip... BC, many thanks for your generous dinner donation excellent steaks!!!To the Gambler crew, excellent as always...fun, expert and professional and to Capt. Bob for taking us to the magic spot on the first night and drifting and on the second night anchoring on the Hudson's East Wall right on the "X". To everyone on the trip--couldn't have been a more considerate and knowleable bunch of anglers...lots of fun...got to match faces with NJF handles... Think the final tuna count was 84 yft & lft with a 1 to 2 ratio with several tiles and mahi(went pothopping) with some coming through the slick at night... lots of life, couple blue sharks, dolphin around the boat most of the time and squid in clear blue 70-73 degree water... Sorry guys, no pix... Shoulders, back and arms very sore with loins to deal with and much needed sleep needed Everyone walked off the boat with at least two fish... most tuna caught on bait.. need sleep, good night... Chucky

That was a good trip.
Vivid rainbow on our way off, bode us well. Thanks to the fishermen who came out with us. Thank you Charlie for getting the ball rolling and the work you did. Thanks for the steak dinner, BC. And thanks for putting the picts up. Good action the whole trip. Great bunch of guys. Plenty of room on upcoming trips.
