Looking back at this thread

I guess the only differential is

Years past they had that one week where they strictly stocked 16 - 19 inch fish

They replaced that with the week of throwing in those gigantic 5 - 9pds bombers.

those mid size trout if even by accident!! The streams I key in are are the primo in NJ , hell in previous yrs, I've done better with mid size fish in the fall winter season, but I always got several in spring, very frustrating this yr.
I'll keep at it I fish thru June if wtaer remains good temp wise for non kill releasas I'll fish thru as much of summer as I can. All this rain just might keep temps reasobnable, who really knows until its over.
Thanks for your input !!
Louis, Start using BAIT like the big butterworms I get from elliotsbutterworms.com or baby nightwalkers and you'll catch LOTS of mid-size fish. I'm up to over 150 so far. Those SECRET spoons you use are terrific for big trout. The butterworms work in off colored waters real well when lures don't. The dirty water cuts the shine down on the lures to next to nothing. Bait has a smell too. Lures don't.
