I think you forgot a few.
Chicken livers Slugs Bubble gum Hot dogs Grub Worms Velvetta Cheese Doughballs Caterpillars Salmon Eggs Marshmallows Killies Peas Baby Ducks Corn French Fries Jelly Beans Small snakes Maggots Doesn't everyone remember picking nightcrawlers with a flashlight? (My mom helped me once.......only once!) How about digging for manure worms in, you guessed it, a farmer's horse manure pile? Did you ever catch minnows in a clear glass jar? How about those worms you can find under piles of leaves? You know, the ones that fall apart when you put them on a hook. How about those trout in the Musky behind the "Orange Pit" that would eat hot dog rolls and french fries! Didn't you ever turn over your garden and look for worms. How about using a homemade hellgrammite seine made from window screens? Catching frogs and crayfish was almost as much fun as fishing. Where do kids get their bait today? |
