If oil prices fall, at some price price point it does not make finacial sense to refine any more Ethanol. It will be way less expensive to refine the cheaper oil.

Problem is our government maindates Ethanol so either way, we will be forced to pay for it at the pump.

Ethanol is also a major part of the reason why corn is the only crop a lot of farmers can afford to grow, and which has lead to a load of environmental and economic issues in this country. And it's all just to line the pockets of politicians who have Monsanto and lobbyists filling their coffers. It does take more energy to produce a gallon of ethanol than a gallon of gasoline. It should be out of our fuel, PERIOD.

I signed this one, and more should be done.

Not to mention that because of ethanol using corn the beef industry is paying triple the amount for beef hence the current out of control price of beef. Those bastards in DC are raping us every which way to Sunday

Read your owners manuals. I know Yamaha outboards are not to be used with E-15.

If other states can sell non ethanol fuel tagged as rec gas or whatever it has to be possible in NJ. Someone has to know how to push this and we just need to stand together on this and we can get it done. I think we should go back to non ethanol across the board but if we can take this baby step it could be the first step necessary to get ball rolling. Im tired of ethanol and issues it has caused for me having tanks pumped out and constantly worrying about what could be next. Time to do something I willing to do work, but need to know how to get ball rolling.

Legislation Introduced to Eliminate the Corn Ethanol Mandate in Motor Fuel

New Gretna, NJ - On Thursday, February 26, Senators Dianne Feinstein and Pat Toomey introduced the Corn Ethanol Mandate Elimination Act of 2015. This bill, S.577, if passed and signed into law, would eliminate the corn ethanol mandate portion of the Renewable Fuel Standard, which while it falls short of capping the amount of ethanol required in motor fuels, is a step in the right direction.

"The RFA supports this bill," said Jim Donofrio, executive director of the Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA), "because passage could lead to the elimination of the threat of E15 fuels being mandated for use in recreational boats and a rethinking of the entire Renewable Fuel Standard."

The bill would gut the main driver of higher ethanol content in motor fuels, corn. The powerful corn lobby has been pushing for the increase, which threatens boat engines and marine fuel systems.

The RFA joins the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) in applauding the move by Senators Toomey and Feinstein as they work together, across the aisle, to address the critical flaws of the Renewable Fuel Standard. The RFS is a broken law which sets unrealistic fuel mandates and requires a long term fix from Congress. The recreational boating community as a whole knows first-hand the problems associated with the RFS. This damage hurts manufacturers during a time of important economic recovery and places the burden of unnecessary risks upon the shoulders of American consumers.

Last week's bill is in addition to Congressman Bob Goodlatte's Renewable Fuel Standard Elimination Act (H.R. 1461) and the Renewable Fuel Standard Reform Act (H.R. 1462). A strong bicameral approach to RFS reform has emerged, pointing towards what NMMA hopes will be Congressional action this year.

My question is how do why are other states allowed to sell non ethanol fuel and nj does not sell it. I am not fine with it but if they want to sell that crap for cars ok but at least let it be sold for boats and as rec gas. They should just eliminateb it all together but im ok with baby steps but not ok with just not increasing it to 15%.
