Just try to fish away from the swimmers..the fishing beach @Sandy Hook is usually a good place to start. lotsa room for walking north(left of the entrance) toward/up to Gunnison beach(nude beach) which I usually keep outa of. Good luck fishing, Rammie

People fishing behind Jersey Gardens mall in Elizabeth catch striped bass off the banks, that's just the other side of the runway at Newark airport, just have to find access.

Fish early mornings pre dawn 5 am to just after 7-730
Wind will be the least.
9 or 10 is more than adequate or even a 8
Prefer a intermediate line over float in the surf because of the waves
Dropping tides will reveal structure holes and sloughs n the bars.
Closures and deceivers good searching patterns
Have some heavy mono 60# or wire bite leader there are bluefish around
The entrance of Sandy Hook down through Sea Bright is a good stretch to explore if not familiar with the area.
You'll see some of the regulars there who'll be more than happy to share advice and info
