Depends on how you plan to fish for them. If you are going to just put the rod in a rod holder, wait for a bite and then "push" the button, I would recommend a bent butt. If you want to be more hands on and hold the rod and feel the bite then go with a straight butt rod. I designed the Reel Seat tile rods based on my own experiences tilefishing. They would be my first choice. The Shakespeare 1120-8 is adequate but falls short when you need more then 36 ounces of lead.
