River Rocket and night bite swan song

Hit the river for magic hour saturday tossing topwaters. Managed 1 shmedium pike before getting hammered by this snotty guy, only my second pr pickerel. Was a little tired but revived him for a good 10 minutes before he was ready to kick off. Fish busting around me the entire time but that's fishing , glad it swam away.
Drove up to skunksville for a last attempt at the herring spawn. Barely any spawning, zero blowups and zero eyes. Managed a Largemouth and big gill, as well as a snagged herring. Might try cong one more time but I think the night bite is toast! On to different bites and techniques, always fish to be found!
