The fish were biting at farrinton this morning

Fished the back in the pads. Landed a number of LMB and had to horse a few out and even get the trolling motor over to get one. Nothing huge, but respectable fish up to 2.5lbs. Also had numerous blowups and hook ups that came unbuttoned. A few pickerel to add a little spice to the action. Once the sun made an appearance and the wind kicked up I was off the water by 11:30. Fishing was good.

At the boat ramp, some fool had tossed a bunch of clay, highly colored statues right in the water. I did not notice them when I launched, still near dark. Upon returning, I removed the statues, or whatever the F! they were out of the water.

Where did you put them? I can use them for extra structure

Just a note about Farrington...

After years of questioning the stocking of trout this lake, I noticed that they will finally stop putting trout in Farrington starting with the Fall 2014 stocking plans.

It never made any sense to me to stock both trout and Northern Pike in the same lake unless you like feeding " fish candy" to the pike.

They stock trout in Lake Hopatcong, Mountain Lake, and Monksville just to name a few. Talk about fish candy.

saw the same thing at my little lake in edison...some guy come by at sets this statue in the water and leaves the damn cardboard box right on the shore...he didn't even sink the statue, sure some local kid will trash the in hours....I didn't touch it since I didn't want the bad joo-joo from 89% of my townsfolk coming down on me, lol (we did toss the cardboard box in the trash, though) have also seen them in centenial lake in piscataway...

The whole stocking program just doesn't make sense. If you would not stock a pond full of "toothy predators" why do they also stock ponds that are shallow and become choked with weeds by mid-June? A pond near me is a case in point where I bet < 1/16 of the stocked trout (~250) are actually caught before the pond is choked and the summer heat kills them. This practice is perhaps repeated across the state. Just my 2 cents.
