I'll let you decide. I know it wasn't us last year, the entire state had a hard time catching trout on opening day due to very low water temps.
I know alot of people prefer smaller streams on opening day and not large rivers. We need a spot with ample parking and plenty of room, that in itself is hard to find on opening day. Should we get 2 inches of rain the day before you might as well forget about it. If we get a spot, I'll bring the donuts and kawfee. |

Im definately in. Im sure there will be a couple of fish at Duke Island but you never know. I cant think of anywhere else we could meet that has ample parking. I say we catch some trout and then go to my spot on the Passaic and liveline them. I dont know but whatever goes down IM IN!!! If that doesnt work out ill be in the back of the bay catching STRIPERS!!!

so here I am again scratching my head "duke island park?" and that is of course... where? is that. Lol growing up in monmouth county I feel most of us young bucks were scared to try anywhere far...ESPECIALLY if we had to go all the way over the big bridge! Now I am a seasoned commuter of nj and just have to pinpoint more areas. thanks in advance - Adam - now lives in Woodbridge and commutes to Red Bank every day.

Duke Island Park has it all, big slow pools, fast moving water over shale flats, and a huge waterfall with hold over trout.
