![]() This Saturday I was thinking of doing a trip w/ my cousin to fish spruce run reservoir for the first time. They are showing 30% chance of thunderstorm. I live about an hour away. Should I head there or do you guys recommend on going somewhere closer like passaic river and wait for a better day?

![]() If I were you I would wait til tomorrow night to check the weather. That said I should be there
Saturday. I'll personally go at 30% all the time....especially because my fishing is limited to weekends. I just check the radar every once in awhile on my phone. |

Go ahead and chance it. If you don't do anything - then nothing will happen. If you go, you might get rained on , or you might have a great day fishing. .

![]() Wait for Friday's forecast, and as long as there's no major thunderstorms, you're ok. I would go and hope for overcast weather (fully-clouded sky). Like acabtp said, an unstable barometer is great for fishing. But, head in if you hear thunder. I've been caught out in bad thunderstorms hiding under a bridge, it's no fun, nor safe-feeling.

![]() Thunderstorms usually last 10 or 15 minutes. Bring your rain gear and fish on. Fishing in crappy weather has lots of advantages. It often times has the fish moving and a lot of fair-weather fishermen stay off the water. I'm going fishing on Monday when there's practically 100% chance of thunderstorms. I'll betcha we'll be the only ones out there and I betcha we catch a musky.
