I was fishing for trout today and couldn't believe My eyes when shad started trying to jump up the damn. Quite a few and very hearty fish. Has anyone here ever known of shad in the Rahway river before?

Adult gizzards are big. I've caught them below the dam at Milton lake. They're def gizzards.

.
All fish are small at one time. Gizzard Shad have the potential to grow pretty big. Maybe they were White Suckers. Sometimes those fish move upstream when they spawn. ![]() .
