Default Weighing fish

I bought a digital scale because I want to start weighing the bigger fish I catch. Just wanted to get a general consensus on what the best/safest way to weigh a fish is. Thanks

Lightbulb Re: Weighing fish

Put the fish in a good catch and release landing net, weigh the net and the fish, subtract the weight of the net.

The only issue with doing that way is that I do a lot of fishing from shore and don't want to have to lug a net around with me.

Check out these weigh slings and sacks. Fish care is very important to most carp fisherman and fishing for carp is a 10 billion dollar industry in Europe so they come up with some great gear. He are a few links to sites in the US. They also have great hooks, rod holders, alarms, chairs...you name it.

Just make sure you wet them down so the fish don't lose their slime coat. The mesh ones that zip up are great for keeping a monster fish for a bit while you wait for a buddy to show up and take pics
