Default D&R Canal 9/18

Decided to stay local yesterday with the ugly weather, so me and my buddy threw the boat in the canal from about 12-330. We found a nice hole with a runoff spilling into it right away that had a bunch of bass in it. We pulled out maybe 4 dinks on senkos, before my buddy switched to a buzzbait and pulled out a stocky 1.5-2lber. Headed upstream after that and I got a 18 or so inch slime dart boatside doing a figure 8 lol. Action slowed down for a while after that until we found a bridge that had some crappie loaded up under it. We pulled out about 5 decent crappie real quick vertical jigging before we started heading back downstream. On the way back I hit a nice thick 23 in pickerel on a jointed believer, then we got bass/dart doubles on round 2 in the bass hole we found. Shortly after this my buddy switched to a smithwick rogue and hooked up with something nice. It was swimming straight toward the boat and came toward the surface and I'm 90% sure it was about a 30in tiger musky, but once it caught a glimpse of the boat it took a run under the boat and broke the line. We were pretty bummed after this and only took a few more casts before calling it quits. All in all it was a fun trip and a nice change only driving 5 mins to fish.

That was a buzzbait bass! I think the vertical line may have been washed out in the photo by the flash, but still a cool looking fish.

Come fish the canal or the millstone and try NOT to catch a pickerel lol. I can't even estimate the number of pencils I've caught this year.
