Thumbs up Merrill Creek Res. 5/20, nice brown trout:

Back to the scene of the crime. Dropped the hook in 70FOW off the main dam and started live lining at 7am. Loaded for bear again with 10 dozen herring. 8am, nothing, 9am, nothing, finally around 10 or so I hooked into a BIG lake trout that I couldn't budge, not on 6lb. test, down and dirty. Sure as god made little kittens and put snakes in the grass in true lake trout form he went right for my anchor rope. No telling this fish where to go, easy double digits. Felt the tell tale rubbing on the rope, tried to salvage what I could by bringing up the anchor, too little too late, no match for the 6lb. test, gone, I just wanted an eyeball on the fish. This has happened to me more times than I care to talk about. Afternoon winds started picking up so I packed it in and motored full steam for what I call "the no particular area."
I had a few dozen herring left so I was going to try to save the day with a nice smallmouth. No sooner did I get on anchor in 50FOW I had fish running. I couldn't figure out if I was dumb, stupid, or just stubborn. Swung and missed on a few and finally connected with a nice brown (not a broodstock fish) like yesterday.
Thanx to Lard for getting me involved in the GoPro. I'm having fun and learning as I go. If you don't like to hear me snorting or huffing and puffing and telling the fish shhhhh, just turn down the audio and turn on your favorite tunes.

Guesstimate was 5lbs, still looking for another double digit from MC.

Weather looks sour for my week off. If you know me, lightning and I just don't get along, I'll try to fish where and when I can. Being on the water in a T-storm is just not fun at all !!!

Great fish! I think what is more impressive is how you managed your way around the boat with all those rods. If it were me I would have fumbled my way around and probably kicked a couple in.

I call it controlled chaos. It's better when I have as many as 3 fish running at the same time. Waiting to take a header as I cat walk on the top of my seats, once around the boat is enough !!

Gotta love browns, such strong fish. nice job andy, u handled it like a pro with all the rods. beautiful fish. i caught 2 carp from burnham pond on sunmorning...about 28-30" (10-14 lbs) and they put up much less fight than that brown. Too bad u lost the giant...woulda been great to see it. my dad hooked a 3ft laker about 10 years ago on rvr, he got it up to about 20 feet down, we thought it was in the bag til it surged under the boat, looped around and rapped the anchor line, i watched it shake loose as i tried to pull up the rope...
