Default December 27 nor’easter fishing

Went fishing 🎣 in Carnegie Lake this afternoon in the rain 🌧️ during a nor’easter. An ultralight jigger who said that he caught a 14” largemouth bass was in the spot where I take the water temperature so I didn’t get the water temp. A father and son was in my fishing 🎣 spot so I went past them, then got snagged on the bottom of the lake twice. I was able to pull a rig from a snag with my 12 lb test line. Saw 12 fishermen catch and release a crappie. I caught and released 4 bluegills, 3 white perch, a yellow perch and a 10” largemouth bass with Walmart red worm halves on my Mitchell #300 French spinning reel. Fish 🐟 were swirling. Saw a great egret catch and swallow a fish 🐠. The fish 🐟 preferred live worms 🪱 over dead worms 🪱. Only used one rod. Wore rubber gloves 🧤. Fish stopped biting at dusk. There were no cars in the parking lot when I left. Route 1 South traffic wasn’t too bad at night.

Highly pressured area and the traffic is horrid during rush hour. Sometimes staying into dark and a little after pays off.

I would fish 🎣 until 7:30 PM before a Plainsboro police sergeant gave me a verbal warning for fishing at night. One of the night fishermen found an $80 ticket on his car. The park closes at sunset. Park Police chase away the fishermen at dusk. I took a photo.
