Default NJ Wild Trout

Went out Sunday in search of some wild trout and was rewarded with a few great looking rainbows. Water temp was 40 and flow was perfect. Find the deep pocket water and you would find fish.

Mmmm parr marks. Nice trout. Love the shot you took of the river.

Have you been running into a lot of thorns? I can't seem to escape them in any trout stream I go to. I now keep a hand held hedge clipper in my coat pocket when I'm trapped.

Yep, thorns seem to be everywhere this year. There were a few spots I wanted to fish but couldn't get through them, too cold to have waders full of holes!

Fishing those small streams is so much fun, you don't feel like your in NJ.

The one in the 1st pic has a gut! Eating well in the high water, that's a good sign for the winter.

Nice fish

Beautiful fish, beautiful creek. Can you believe that some people's only experience with NJ trout fishing is following the stocking truck?

I cant even believe that there are people who only know NJ as the shore or Newark. They never even visited some of these "wild" places.
