Default Budd lake 7-19

Car was in the shop so I walked there little over a mile each way- worked the bank- usual suspects- frogs senkos salamnader and some up 46- wasn't too hot- didn't see much life-lots of suspended dead weeds- no bait- except a big snake- anybody every fish there? That west side seems real shallow and murky by the marina- only fished for about 30min- then my car was done-curious it didn't seem more lively

It seems budd only shines when its frozen over. Not sure what it is with that lake but never have any luck there during the summer.

Yep first ice and last ice is best bets. Still not a great fishery but a good amount of average fish to keep you busy

I'll spill some beans here. I live in Budd Lake for about 14 years. There's plenty of fish in there. Some very respectable LMB, and Pike too.

The entire lake is not very deep. If I recall from my boating days, I never marked a spot over 11 feet.

In the center of the lake are some structures. Drive by on a given weekend and you'll see the boats working them - not really a secret. At least one of them is marked by a set of buoys.

I never did have much luck from shore. Both the west and east end are very shallow. But the east end at least has some docks that will hold bass.

The lake definitely takes a pounding all winter long. I fish for lots of things in lakes, rivers and oceans, but never got into ice fishing. Not sure why that lake produces so well when its hard water.

So you didn't get any - who cares! You had fun trying while most of us were working!

Some real big cat fish in there. Have a few friends that live right on the lake and we kick back with a few beers and catch them at night.
