Default Trout Fishing in Musky this weekend

Hi Guys,

Well my friends and I may take a break from saltwater fishing. I little fluked out and bottom fishing hasn't been that great. Are there still action in the Musky river for Trout? Or is it too hot and they all disappear or died? I never fished trout past May, but I know they stocked a ton of fish there. Any info would be appreciated before we make the trip.

thanks!

The fish are there as they are in any good holdover streams in NJ. I personnaly do not trout fish in specific streams in summer due to water temps that may over exert trout that are caught & eventually kill them. So when stream temps are over 65 degrees I quit & got to cooler streams if available, some streams & regions of streams will hold temp in upper fifities to low sixties. These temps will help trout survive once caught.
You will also note lack of fight in warm water similar to water that's in the forties both slow metabolism and natural feeding qualities as opposed to correct temps where they remain fiesty.
Of course it's all a mute point if you harvest & eat your fish . Good luck!!

Thanks!
