Default Wiring

I have a 20 ft Dual console with an E-tec.

I got some used I-command gauges last year and have them wired fine.

I am having a new dash made to have just those two muti-purpose gauges and no analog stuff. Trying to clean up all my wiring and redo some old bad fixes.

Im gonna leave the old tach/warning gauge hooked up, inside, tie wrapped just in case

I have a small 5 circuit breaker mounted into the foot area of the cockpit. Currently a positive wire is coming out of one of the main harnesses and feeding the breaker. Can I take one of the extra switched b+ wires (plenty available from the old rigging) and feed that breaker instead? That way everything is protected but only comes on with a key in accessory.

thanks.
