March & April Bass Lure?
What kind of lure would you use for March & April LMB & SMB? I am thinking about using 1/4 oz black football jig with crawdad trailer or Drop shot. Spinnerbait? what do you think? suspending jerkbait?

Rattletraps are solid during pre-spawn.

Re: March & April Bass Lure?
Personally I go with super slow stuff on the bottom in march. Even just letting it sit. Id wait til April for the spinnerbait.

Re: March & April Bass Lure?
Yamamoto Flappin' Hawg--weightless or with a small amount of weight. The 4+ inch model in greens and browns, sometimes the blues and purple, too. Esp in March...

Re: March & April Bass Lure?
suspending jerkbaits are great, as are silver buddies, crankbaits, and chatterbaits. While using jerkbaits use the jerk, jerk, pause cadense, the bass will tell you how long of a pause they want. The hits will come as it is sitting still.

Re: March & April Bass Lure?
Floating or suspending minnows are a good choice. Alternate between a slow, steady retrieve and a stop-and-go retrieve and see which one works better that day.

Re: March & April Bass Lure?
Suspending jerkbaits (husky jerk 10s, lc pointers or rapala x raps) rattletraps, & 1/8 oz black hairjigs fished slow on 6lb line will get it done. Jigs will also Catch big prespawn lms
