Default March trouting

Capt. Lou and I hit the South Branch near Califon for a while. It was a bust. Spoke to two other guys who were also fishless.
We then went to the Pequest where Capt. Lou nailed a big girth 17 1/2" beauty rainbow. The fish was very dark indicating a lengthy stay in the river. He had another hit on lures. My butterworms were refused all day. Very unusual happening.
Both rivers were supreme water wise. Best conditions I've seen in a while. Running normal and crystal clear.
