Default Thanksgiving Eve lunker tradition

I usually get out early on the wed before thanksgiving. Two years ago, i did and nailed an xl rainbow. last year i didn't get to fish that day....this year i went back to the same spot and nailed another similarly xl trouser trout so i'm gonna call it a thanksgiving eve tradition! haha

the troutz didn't want the plug this day and i had to switch to a finesse jig. I was catching some normal sized trout when i was working my way back to the car and in the last spot, I set the hook into a moving snag!

This big girl could've easily owned me since i had drifted my jig deep under a laydown hole, but she made one vital mistake when she made her first run out into the current...I quickly ran at the laydown to scare her back away from it. Only chance i had with 4lbs line. She made a few runs up and down the current but i body blocked her from getting back in the hole, and it was the only one near enough for her to escape and i eventually slid her right into the net!
