Default December Walleye

I am not as big of a freshwater fishermen as I am saltwater, but My friend wants to try walleye fishing from the bank on the Delaware, tomorrow. I saw areas in the Delaware gap national park area that are good but I saw that a lot of the access near islands I wanted to fish (as per National Park Service website) are not open road wise. Thus, I am thinking of trying south near Mt. Bethel. No spots I am asking for, I am just wondering if I am in the right area for walleye in the Delaware this time of year? Mt. Bethel to just north of the National park.

Much appreciated, Ben

It’s dropping quick there’s probably gonna be a lot of debris floating down. Be careful on the banks with the water up, good luck

I remember a video from our very Lard Almighty on this subject
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGaaNxBo0dg

Use Google Earth, Pa has some decent access. Years ago Wilson showed me some really cool spots around Easton, only caught trout though.
p.s. watch out for the large racoons.

Water was still up as of yesterday. This time of year the walleye will be in there winter holes...ie. deep water. Better access from boat but there are a few spots you can fish from shore. Access on jersey side is limited, old mine road was closed off after worthington state forest. Better access from pa this time of year. I know this info is a little late but hope it helps for future trips.

I'm not familiar with Mount Bethel, but there will be walleye north of the park, yes. You do need to fish deep holes. The Fisherman magazine reports on a spot up there, but I'm having a senior moment and forget the name. There is deep water there accessible by casting from shore. Make sure the river has come down if you haven't gone already.
