I tried fluro on spinning reels and hated it. It was tangle city for me so I switched back to mono. On my bait casters I prefer braid with a fluro leader.

Had the same experience with 6# vanish gold last year. I am going to try some seagar invizx with some kvd line conditioner as recommended by uglystcik.

I used to use Stren exclusively. It worked fine, but then I switched over to Berkley Big Game since it was cheaper, and I never had a problem with it. I just wish it was also available in lighter sizes than 8 lb. test. I tried Ande for 4 and 6 lb. test, and it has horrible knot strength. Going back to Stren for my light setups.

Don't forget the part about stretching the line out on a regular basis - this goes for mono too.

I use McCoy Mean Green and will never use another line. Barely any line twist and it is super smooth. 1100yd spools are very cheap.
